Entertaining write up by James Cridland on The Guardian Radio Reborn 2008 Conference.
This is how a conference report should be written!
James alludes to Jenny Abramsky rejecting calls to privatise Radio 1 and Radio 2 by Peter Bazalgette.
This is not the first time such a call has been made.
Why? The BBC must serve as many Licence payers as possible, and losing two networks would weaken the Corporation in serving its audience.
Selling off BBC Worldwide is even more bonkers – the money generated goes back into programme making.
I, for one, reject such calls.

I would doubt, too, whether commercial radio would welcome two new massive competitors for a limited advertising pot.
