Client-side, design and development
This site is built using HTML5, styled with CSS and published using WordPress.
The theme design and development is by myself, along with all words, graphics and pictures (unless otherwise noted).
This site uses Microformats, and utilises elements from HTML5 Boilerplate and Bootstrap.
Development is carried out on Ubuntu, using open source tools such as Geany, GIMP and Inkscape.
Plugins
A number of WordPress plugins are used, including:
- Akismet – works well for me in fighting spam.
- Broken Link Checker – automatically checks for broken external links.
- Google Analyticator – statistics.
- Google XML Sitemaps – periodically generates a XML sitemap to help search engine spiders discover site content.
- Health Check – checks the health of WordPress installations.
- Jetpack – Provides various WordPress.com cloud powered facilities.
- PuSHPress – adds PubSubHubbub support.
- RSS Cloud – adds RSSCloud support.
- Subscribe2 – email alerts for updates to the site blog.
- Twitter Tools – displays and archives my Tweets.
- WordPress.com Stats – more statistics!
- WordPress Database Backup – backup, backup, backup!
- WP Updates Notifier – email notifications of core and plugin updates.

Server-side
This site runs on a LAMP stack hosted at Dreamhost.
