Television

My freelance vision control services include:
- Matching the exposure, black level and colour balance of cameras on live and pre-recorded shows.
- Line up of cameras and vision monitoring equipment.
- Operation of lighting consoles.
- Setting and adjusting production lighting.
- Contact point and liaison on vision and lighting issues.
I’ve worked on a wide range of programmes, everything from sports to light entertainment and all points in between, to full broadcast standards.
I have a deep interest in lighting - important in producing the best possible pictures through vision control.
I joined the BBC in 1981, initially in cameras based in Manchester before transferring to London in 1986.
From 1988 to 2007 I worked in lighting, starting as a Lighting and Vision Assistant before becoming a Lighting and Vision Controller at BBC Television Centre.
As well as vision control at the BBC I also spent periods lighting small and medium sized productions.
Contact me if you’re interested in using my services on your next project.
